The Blue Ocean Websites exists for one kind of owner: someone who built a real business, stopped running it, and still holds a website that people find on Google. We buy those websites, or more often take them on a lease-to-own basis, paying roughly $300 to $500 a month per site until the agreed price is paid in full. We take over hosting, renewals and upkeep from day one, and nothing moves before a written agreement is signed.

Who is behind this site?

Odys Global is the holding company. It operates multiple business units, projects, media channels and companies, among them Odys Marketplace, Odys iGaming, Odys Mentors, Odys Events and Odys Podcast. It is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, and its team works remotely around the world, with a few offices on different continents. Odys Global is a blue-ocean growth marketing company: its work is finding channels where demand already exists and competition has not yet arrived.

Odys Blue Ocean is the business unit, and the direction the company has taken. It is a family of growth services, each with its own site, each built for one channel and each designed to remove a specific constraint on how a business grows. The slogan says it plainly: “Your blue-ocean growth partner, globally.”

The Blue Ocean Websites is one service in that family. When this site says “we”, it means the Odys Blue Ocean team.

What The Blue Ocean Websites does for owners

Businesses close for ordinary reasons. A founder runs out of runway, a store owner retires, a clinic is sold, a publisher stops posting. The business ends, but the website often keeps something it took years to earn: pages that still rank, visitors who still arrive from search, and links from newspapers, associations, suppliers or universities that once wrote about it. Left alone, that dormant website costs money to renew and slowly loses what it has.

We offer owners a way to turn it into income instead. We look for websites that are still indexed on Google, get at least 500 monthly organic traffic visits as estimated by Ahrefs, have at least two or three strong authority links, still rank for some of their own brand keywords, and can be transferred by the person who owns them. We take over the site, keep it online and look after it.

We do not buy parked, expired or dropped domains, domains without content, hobby or personal blogs without a business behind them, sites built to sell ads, or sites that are penalized or hacked. If you are unsure where yours stands, the free website value check gives a first answer in a couple of minutes.

How we work with owners

Lease-to-own is our preferred structure. You receive a monthly payment, roughly $300 to $500 per site, until the agreed price is paid in full. An outright cash purchase is possible for the right asset, and the monthly route pays a higher total than our cash offer. The guide to what a lease-to-own deal looks like month by month walks through the stages.

Three things do not change from one deal to the next:

  • A written agreement comes first. No domain, hosting account or login changes hands before both sides have signed.
  • We take on the running costs. Hosting, renewals and upkeep become our responsibility from day one.
  • We tell you if it is not a fit. A clear no, with the reason, is more useful to you than a slow maybe.

How we evaluate a site is explained on the call. The checks we run, and the three outcomes they lead to, are described on our evaluation page.

Research and development

What the Blue Ocean family has in common is close to twenty years of research and development into how search engines, and now AI assistants, decide what to show. Every Blue Ocean service came out of that research: a channel was tested, measured and made repeatable before it was offered to anyone. The full list of services is on the Blue Ocean family page, kept current as new ones are released.

Alex Drew

Alex Drew is the founder and CEO of Odys Global and the creator of Odys Blue Ocean. He has spent close to twenty years in the field, researching how search engines and AI assistants decide what to show and turning that research into the services of the Blue Ocean family, and he writes the owner guides on this site. Outside work, he has a background in martial arts. The comparison pages, owner situations and reference pages are written and maintained by the Odys Blue Ocean team.

How to get in touch
